Re: If the Corner Shop had a boat what would it be called?

I think I would call it Global, partly to represent the spread of our posting members and partly as a tribute to one of our now late members and the prodigious number of postings he made.

Re: Cicada Madness

Ralph that area is definitely croc country but they were not a protected species until 1974. They were usually shot on sight so there would have been a few less there in 1964 than there are now. They are back in numbers now all the way down the east coast down as far as where I am on the Mary River...

Re: Cicada Madness

As a lad, it seemed that no war movie involving the Far East, was complete without a night scene where the dominant sound was a background of Cicadas chirping away in their countless thousands. The first time I came across them in real life was in Brisbane about 53 years ago. It was my first visit ...

Re: Firefox

You're ahead of me, I dare not change anything on my computer as I am hoping to finish/upload an album soon & have already lost it once with a computer meltdown. Sherri, the loss of the add-on that irritated me was one that allowed me to download and save video clips from Facebook, You Tube etc. Th...

Firefox

For some time now, I have been using Firefox browser along with useful add-on such as download helper. The brand-spanking new browser: Version 57 Quantum arrived today and I rushed to start using it. I now find that add-ons like that above are no longer compatible. Very irritating. I should have che...

Good grief, it almost sounds like another country. I've never heard of or seen places quite as rough as that, Ralph (not even in Dandenong, Andy. :D )
Glad you escaped with your life, Ralph!
Thank you Sherri, it was tough in them tha days... :-)

Re: Ralph - Tell us About King Edward VIII

The royals are out dated. Get rid A.S.A.P. Mr Guy Fawkes picked the wrong place to try and blow up. How so? The King (James I) was going to be in the Parliament along with family members and his Court. He just wasn't up to the job and he and his co-conspirators paid a terrible price for his actions...

Re: Ralph - Tell us About King Edward VIII

I was reading that Phillip has retired to some house or other. Not Buck palace anyway. So the queen doesn't get to see him every day any more. Phillip is about 96 so deserves private time now. I think the queen has a sense of duty, which keeps her keeping on. She is looking in good nick for her age...

Bubba means nothing to Ralph he is English gentry. Thank you Andy. As for producing 'the proof' he asks for, it is all abundantly available and easily accessible on the Internet. If I were to reprint it, Daddy O would then accuse me of 'cutting and pasting' as he has done previously with Max, so I ...

Mr Smith is active on Facebook. One of his great interests is photography, at which he excels and Facebook makes the posting and sharing photos very easy and I have no doubt that is why he uses it more. From time to time his health gives him problems too, but like for many of us, age is not on our s...

Re: Ralph - Tell us About King Edward VIII

I just watched a documentary about King Edward VIII. Here's the synopsis: According to research, mainly from FBI files, British king Edward's abdication was not exactly the price for marriage to twice-divorced American Wallis Simpson, an outrage, especially for the royal head of the Anglican church...

Good Post Ralph......and I think there is one thing we can both agree on.....Corruption knows no bounds or borders. I'm sure that you have done more research on the Paradise Papers, but the truth of the matter is......on this side of the pond.....is we have the most corrupt government ever. Two of ...

George Popadopolous, a senior foreign affairs member of the Trump cabinet pled guilty to FBI charges of lying to the FBI and Obstruction of Justice. Do innocent people plead guilty for no reason at all? He is the one who set up the meeting between Donald Jr., Kuschner and Monafort with the Russians...

Regardless of what comes out at the end of these investigations, and it may be that The Democrats themselves may also end up in the mire, as on reporter wryly put it: "When it comes to interfering in other peoples elections, The US is hard to beat. :D
