That's the one! I only lasted to the end of infants I think or the beginning of 1st class I was taken out because the Nuns used to whip me with the stick end of the feather duster for not being able to recite the catacism.."Hail Mary Full of Grace" that's all I knew..and the last straw was...

just been having a good laugh with my mum ..she said she remembers there being an uproar about ladies having to pay to use the toilets because the men didnt have to pay to pee but they had to pay to sit and *stink*..where the ladies had to pay sit regardless of whether they pee'd or poo'ed

Oh I remember the paper shop too!..I used to buy ha'penny chews and a mars bar for my mum , the spaceships were good but my fav was pirates tobbaco..long bits of coconut rolled in cinnamon and sugar!...hard to find and only a few corner shops had it...but I knew where to find them

Thanks Malaymac...yep you got that right...Noosa is the subtropics..dont think I'd ever survive a real winter..Hubby is from Philadelphia USA and he laughs every time I say its cold when the temps drop to 20C I freeze :lol: I remember helping Granda in his shop and standing on a box behind the count...
