I was interested to see the grave yard, that must be the site of the shopping centre where BHS is. As I saw some newspaper article saying when they were digging the foundations found several bodies etc..

I'm trying to figure out which is King Street. Bear in mind I have only been to South Shields twice. Are any of those places still there or is that all been demolished for the expanse of the wonderful shopping centre??!!!!

Hi Pilot Many Thanks for that. Looking at it as it is now I couldn't imagine what it may have been like. My Family lived there at the time this picture was apparently taken in 1920's and 1930's. Any one had any relatives living in Waterloo Vale?
My grandmother and her mother lived at number 9 for quite some time.
Came to South Shields recently but I there is now a shopping centre on the site.
Was it a highly populated area, does anyone have any info about it?
