Any pubs on Shields sell decent German Beer - Jever, Krombacher, or such like?

You might also find the Old Ordnance Survey Maps useful. The Godfrey Editions cover the area around the turn of the last century. This book may be helpful, it is certainly full of detail about South Shields railways. It is "Railways of South Shields" by Neil Sinclair and Ian Carr and was published by Tyne and Wear Museums Service in 1990. Maybe now out of print, but worth seeking out. radstockjeff Thanks for that :D...
