I recognise my husband John Sayer on both of these photos. Front row on the right , first photo, and sitting next to the lad with the shield on the second photo, long gone has the dark hair.

After the publicity of his charity walks, big Hec , ran a raffle in the Red Duster, which didn't go down well with the winner. re marriage of Thomas Aitcheson his wife was Martha Ann Smith and they were married in South Shields on 1st June 1889. Caroline Hilda White Husband married William Gray.
