Re: Harper Street location

I research all graves I add to my site. I am concentrating on three South Shields cemeteries at the moment. I have photographed all gravestones/memorials at the following: St Simon & St. Stephen. I have photographed 3 sections of Westoe cemetery. I am researching the story behind the gravestone of J...

Re: Harper Street location

This a 1950s view from Mile End Road Ralph. The headstone in front of the large bush has chalked on it a 'cross' and wanted. (see inset) I have been unable to find out how the stones were chosen to remain and those to be destroyed. Was it was an arbitrary choice left up to the workmen? Or were they ...

Oh well it was only of academic interest. But it compares well-ish with the 90 f/2 APO-Summicron on my M9 (but not quite)

Yes I know about the raids in that area. I am collecting material for my Tyneside cemeteries website and am researching various people buried in St Stephens cemetery. I have almost completed Israel Venus and am now researching Clara Taws & her family. (5 Harper St) Not a great deal of material in th...

Re: The Roman Quay

It has been a bone of contention over the years, that there is believed to be a Brigante (pre Roman tribes) quay, just off the old Vidor factory in River Drive. Promises were made that should the factory be demolished then the site would be fully excavated before any development takes place.

Is this forum dead or dying?

Shame that this forum seems to be largely inactive now, as I have lots of articles, 'how to' guides and creative ideas for photographers.

Can Anyone Remember the Name of this Pub

It was in Quen St opposite the Briish Legion Club. A trace of it can still bee seen in the far corner where there are a few white faience bricks. Was it the Havelock? Has anyone got a picture of it?
Many thanks in anticipation :D

Re: no body home

All forums on his site appear to have died, due to every post being made on Curly's board. I rarely post any more as it seems there is a clique and outsiders are ignored. :? This is normal behaviour on message boards and I can go back to 1996.
