Yeah. A lot of working class people hate the middle classes looking down their noses at them, yet they do exactly the same to Chavs.

Think about it, a lot of Southerners think Northerners all own pigeons, whippets and Flat caps. By the same token a lot of people think all Chavs are criminals.

Agreed Anna. Though Im not a Chav/Scally myself, I hate to see class snobbery and thats what this is. :x Chavs, like all working class movements/groups including the punks, are stereotyped. They are seen as all being exactly the same and a threat in some way because of the actions of a few. Says it ...

Is there anybody else out there that can remember Yogos and Hanky pankys from the early 80's or did I just dream it. Yogos were yoghurt flavoured (obviously) chewy sweets and Hanky pankys were a kind of puffy sort of thing in a bag. Arthur Lowe was in the advert offering one to a woman and asking if...

Chavs

Hey - is there anybody else there that is sick and tired of hearing people hammer the name of Chavs into the ground? Talk about painting everyone with the same brush. These people are hypocrites. They call Chavs worse than muck then cheer Wayne Rooney when hes playing for England or buy the latest K...

Elvis v Cash

Fair enough mate, youll have to take my word. I think you cannot underestimate Elvis' importance in the history of music, though nobody can deny he wasnt at his best in his later years. His vocals on Burning love are just terrible. Cash on the other hand was producing quality right until the end. St...

Spangles - you could get them in butterscotch packets as well as fruit flavours couldnt you.

Anyone remember Aztec bars, Jaw breakers and Quatro pop circa early 80's? Or Revels and Double agents from the 70's.

Exiled Shields lad. Had to move to Sunderland for child care reasons.

Loved the way the video showed him as young and alive interspersed with images of an old man in ill health. Devastating. I think both his wife and then he died before the single was released?

Johnny Cash V Elvis

I used to think that Johnny Cash was the money you put in the condom machine!

Q magazine voted the Video to 'Hurt' by Johnny Cash as the best video of all time. Hard to disagree, its amazing.
