Last I saw of the place it was a supermarket, and a painting and decrating store before that, like a precursor to B&Q.

Aye, it has always been Ghandi's temple, even my Grandad used to call it that. Don't know when it gained the name, but it must have been after Ghandi's peace protests. Born '57 so I would have went to Mowbray about 64-68-ish. I remember in my last year there being in the prefab type classroom by where they served school dinners
