The funeral directors now stands where the TSB bank used to be. Then, when the other branch opened on Prince Edward Road, this one was turned into a sort of drop-in advice centre for the TSB. Ty McGurk had two shops at the Nook, I think. There was the first one on the corner of Borough Road - used to be A and B Supplies or Albert Burr's barbers- and then it shut and went to the smaller one further along Sunderland Road, in the vicinity of where the undertakers and kitchen shop is now. Anyone remember the comic from mid to late 70s....he dressed in a comic prisoner's suit (white top and trousers with large black arrows on it!) and he used to say 'Slither!' then jump to one side?
